Whether a chimney is being used or not used at all it is important to get them inspected. Due to the narrow nature of a chimney system inspecting them might be difficult for the untrained eye. But our maintenance team is trained and equipped with tools and advanced imaging cameras to inspect both the interior and exterior parts, including the inaccessible part like the chimney flue. We inspect the system thoroughly to catch up with issues within the chimney system. However, The National Fire Protection Association has three levels of chimney inspection which we define into phases, and they are:
Our chimney sweep service is an integral preventive measure we take to keep chimneys safe and prevent potential fire hazards. Debris, waste, animal waste, and flammable substances such as creosote and soot accumulate within the chimney system, which clog the system and increase the risk of a fire outbreak. To prevent this unfortunate incident, hire a chimney sweep service by our experts.
Our experts clean up all the chimney appliances, from the chimney cap down to the fireplace. They remove ash, soot, creosote, and debris so well that you won’t notice any stains around your chimney, ensuring no mess ends up in your house.
I discovered birds had entered my chimney, and I spoke with Extreme Chimney Sweep about it. They suggested a thorough chimney inspection and chimney sweep service. During inspection, they found a snake inside the chimney. To my great amusement, they remove the snake and a large bird nest while cleaning it up. They also installed a mesh around the chimney cap to prevent further animal infestation.
I’ve always been worried about the safety of our chimney, especially because it’s old. However, Extreme Chimney Sweep fixed it without me worrying any longer. They inspected every inch, showed me areas of concern with their high-tech equipment, and helped me repair it.
Extreme Chimney Sweep transformed my chimney from a hazard to a safe, well-functioning system. Their team was professional, fast, and left no mess behind. I’ll never go anywhere else for chimney care.
After initial habitation by Susquehannock Indians and subsequent nearby Harrisburg establishment, the area was owned by the Kelker family of Harrisburg by the 1800s. The 100-acre area was chosen in 1866 by Samuel Morse Felton Sr., president of the Pennsylvania Steel Company, to begin construction of a steel mill. This particular site was favored because of the location's proximity to the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Pennsylvania Canal, and the nearby iron mine in Cornwall, Lebanon County. The land was purchased from owners Henry A. and Rudolph F. Kelker; then, steel pioneer Alexander Lyman Holley was chosen to build the mill along the Susquehanna River, which was completed by 1867 (along with a mansion for Felton), and began operation on May 15, 1868. Originally named "Baldwin" after Matthias W. Baldwin, founder of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, by 1871 it had changed to "Steel Works" after the existence of another Baldwin, Pennsylvania Post Office, and finally "Steelton" in 1879 after confusion of the Post Office with the steel mill itself. It was incorporated as a borough on January 19, 1880. The extensive steel works of the Pennsylvania Steel Company later became operated by Bethlehem Steel, ArcelorMittal, and currently Cleveland-Cliffs. Also present at one time were brickyards, a flouring mill, and machine shops.
